Audio Visual (AV) Volunteer
Position Description
Purpose: To enhance the visitor experience and further the mission of the Mississippi Arts +
Entertainment Experience. AV Volunteers may assist with set up and breakdown equipment as used for
event productions.
Responsibilities may include:
• Setting up and testing sound and video equipment before events, broadcasts, or recordings
• Breaking down + transporting sound and video equipment after events, broadcasts, or
recordings
• Operate, monitor, and adjust audio, video, lighting, and broadcast equipment to ensure
consistent quality.
• Interacting with computers both Mac and PC platforms
• Basic video camera operation
Qualifications:
• Show excellence, integrity, passion, and respect while interacting with visitors
• Agreeable personality and relate well to people of all ages and backgrounds
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Dependable, flexible and ability to multitask
Requirements: Successfully complete all training and adhere to appropriate dress code. Should be
able to stand and walk for short periods of time both indoors and outdoors. Some heavy lifting
required. Knowledge of AV equipment preferred.
Time Commitment: Varied per event. Most shifts are approximately 3 hours. Minimum of twenty
(20) hours of volunteer service per year are required to remain on the active volunteer list.
