Opportunities From: East Mississippi HUB for Volunteers and Nonprofits

Volunteer: Volunteer Firefighter/EMS

Be a hero. Give back to your community in a purposeful, rewarding way while gaining valuable training.

Lauderdale County fire officials are seeking new members interested in firefighting or emergency medical services.  Active, participating members will receive free training and uniforms.  Training received is very thorough and in-depth.

A volunteer fire department is a fire department consisting of volunteers who perform fire suppression and other related emergency services for a local jurisdiction. The main responsibilities of a volunteer firefighter are to assist people in distress, rescue fire victims and extinguish fires as quickly as possible. To accomplish these duties, a volunteer firefighter must be able to perform a wide range of tasks.

Dedication, responsibility, and the willingness to serve are of utmost importance.

Lauderdale County fire services consist of 18 volunteer fire departments. The fire stations are welcoming, friendly environments where we can train as well as respond to 911 calls.  All ages are welcome to volunteer. There is always a job at a volunteer fire department for every person that just wants to help their community.

If you would like to volunteer, you can contact Allan Dover at 601-482-9856 or adover@lauderdalecounty.org.
