The East Mississippi Volunteer Hub is Celebrating National Volunteer Week by Organizing a Community Clean-up
National Volunteer week is April 18th – 24th. Volunteers are scheduled all throughout the week to pick up trash in various areas of Meridian.
SCHEDULE:
Monday, (morning) April 19th
- North Hills St. (morning shift)
Tuesday, (morning) April 20th
- 10th Ave. (morning shift)
Friday, April 23rd
- 34th St. (morning shift)
- 23rd Ave. (afternoon shift)
Saturday, April 24th
- 29th Ave. (morning shift)
- Northeast Tennis Complex/Planet Playground (morning shift) - Evangel Temple Youth
- MLK Drive (afternoon shift)
Sunday, April 25th:
- Bonita Lakes (3 afternoon shifts)
INCENTIVES:
- FREE t-shirts until gone, first come, first serve!
- Exercise!
- "Map your walk"
- Volunteer with friends
T-SHIRT AND TRASH BAG PICK-UP:
Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the United Way of East Mississippi office
Location: 4817 North Park Dr. Suite B Meridian, MS 39305
*Pick up your t-shirt and bags any time before your shift starts
*Bring your own gloves if possible
If you can’t make it during the work week, Saturday, April 24th and Sunday, April 25th is for you!
More volunteers are needed from:
- Youth Groups
- Churches
- Organizations
- Civic Groups
- High School Students
- College Students
- Families are encouraged to volunteer together and bring their older children
Lauderdale county will be providing “caution” signs for each clean-up location. The City of Meridian is providing garbage trucks for each clean-up location. Keep Meridian & Lauderdale County Beautiful donated garbage bags for this project.
