Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity

Who We Are

Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity, established in 1989, is a non-profit organization that provides decent and safe homes to low-income family, disabled and/or elderly individuals. Decent shelter is something we all need to thrive. Strong and stable homes help build strong and stable communities. With a little help, we all have the potential to stand on our own. Bold actions speak louder than words. Working together, side by side, promotes understanding and self-reliance.

What We Do

In partnership with volunteers, we build and rehab homes for low-income families, disabled individuals, elderly and veterans.  Our volunteers are welcomed at any skill level - from no home improvement skills to skilled carpenters, painters, plumbers, electricians, etc.  Volunteers are welcomed at age 14-17 with a parent on site; 18+.  Our volunteers must complete a volunteer waiver and present it at the first volunteer event.  We ask that our volunteers wear closed toe shoes - NO SANDALS please.  COVID 19 - we are asking all volunteers to wear a mask.  If volunteers do not have a mask, one will be provided.  Most of all we ask our volunteers to HAVE FUN while being the hands and feet of Jesus in service to others.
